First entry in a very long time. I'm now a moderator on a Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine themed RPG
We're just getting off the ground and I'm advertising everywhere for more players.

Here is our official ad. If anyone is interested please check us out and repost this ad in any forum or other internet communities that you are part of.

Chosen of the Emperor Rejoice!

Have you always want to be one of the Imperiums greatest defenders?
Now you can be. The Omega Marines are recruiting new initiates to join the fight against the enemies of mankind.

Sons of the Emperor is a BBS PbP Role-Playing game where players take on the persona of a space marine of the Omega Marines chapter. The standard of writing expected is high but not unobtainable and the staff will always be on hand to help out with your application.

Applications that are of high quality will join the ranks of the 4th company. While those that show promise will join the scout squad under experienced roleplayers that will aid you both IC and OOC.

Happy [insert holiday here] of you choice everybody

I'm back in Bath on the 2nd of january.
I can't wait, its boring as hell around here and with Tony's (the local comic store) shut I'm beginning to feel RP starved.
All in all Christmas cheer is rather lacking at the moment. Oh well, at least there's cake.

Mmmmm, cake

Your Score: Slingin' Some Mojo

You scored 74 points of Cosmo-Savviness!

You know your shit, brother, and you're working up the corporate ladder. You're kinda like that cab driver from Escape from New York: not a figure of incredible importance, but you know your way around. Plus you kinda look like Ernest Borgnine, and that's cool right? Manfred and Prospero would probably chill with you. Not Faust though. He's still too cool for you.

Karl wrapped himself in his cloak, leant back against a tree and glanced across the fire at his strange new companion.

There was Harlequin, sleeping peacefully with Mister Bunny in her arms - and her head pillowed on Starke’s leg.

Karl got to his feet, tiptoed across the ground and moved Starke’s body, replacing it with his folded cloak as a slightly more respectful pillow. Then he turned and crept back to the tree for a slightly colder night than he had anticipated.

I like Karl.
He's fun to play and the kit is lightweight and easy to carry to the uni and back.

Karl likes everyone regardless of race or alignment and will do his best to help them as long as they don't engage in banditry which he hates above all other crimes.
He looks for a non-violent path will try to mediate in any dispute. In short, he is a happy character may irritate some characters sometimes but is friendly and likable and always useful to have around.

Karl also now has a new pet project in Xanthipes new character. Harlequin was introduced to him as a traveler going on a journey of discovery and in need of guidance. Traveler, and guidance are words you should never ever use around Karl as he'll immediately assume personal responsibility for you and dedicate himself to to helping any way he can.
Karl has been asked by the temple to look out for Harlequin and provide regular reports. So that's what he's going to do.

I had great fun yesterday running around after Harlequin trying to keep her out of trouble and learn about her.
This is going to be a very interesting IC relationship (Part friend, part babysitter, part research scientist and part psycho-therapist) but I think its going to be a lot of fun and I hope xanthipe enjoys it too.

The campaign is shaping up well and once again I'm glad I'm playing Karl this year because
He's curious about everything in the new land and will definitely become a valued member of this years 'Team: Poke it with sticks'.

We're having helbling, magicaddict, indigogecko and a few others around this evening to watch/mock the streetfighter film that pujaemuss recorded a few weeks and before arrive I have to get Karls harlequin report ready to hand over to helbling in hard copy as she doesn't have an internet connection yet.

This weekend was the first since the 36hr that I've done much of anything.

Saturday morning me, Andy and cheekychipmunk went along to Fourmyles place courtesy of a lift from indigogecko and sorted out assorted larp costume.
Then we headed up to the uni to look in on the character gen. session and meet some of the newbies but we found we were surplus to requirements so we scooped up magicaddict and headed for the bar.
A drink and an electronic pub quiz game later we aquire helbling and head back to her and magicaddicts new place (which is very nice if rather cramped for 5 people) and then on to warhammer shedding Andy en-route.

Here endeth the brief description, Warhammer under a cut for those of you who don't care.

Warhammer )
Warhammer )

And so on to sunday. I was planning to monster the first game or two of the new campaign but yesterdays party consisted of loads of pathfinders and no healers. Fortunately I had Karls costume with me (I love it, its so light after all the chainmail) so a balance priest was added at the last minute.
Karl turned out to be a lot of fun to play but rather hard work trying to keep up the rapid chatter about anything and everything,
The main problem he has is a compulsion to help anyone who says they're lost. This is a BAD thing when the lost person is a ghost who wants to suck out your life force.
I'm not sure what his survival chances are. On the up side he likes everybody and I'm trying to by all the utility miracles like remove fear and freedom before I get the destructive ones so he'll always be useful to the party.
On the down side, I think the excessive happiness will really annoy some of the more order aligned characters and a compulsion to run forwards and introduce himself to everyone the party meets could get him killed in short order, either by the monsters or by his own party (In his first game he's already been knocked out by his own patrol leader and drain life 4ed almost to death.
We'll see how things go...

More warhammer tonight to make up for missing a session this coming saturday, then back to work tomorrow.
Bye all
